When did you start at UC Blue Ash and what are your current responsibilities?
I began working as the Associate Director of Academic Affairs in March 2025. In this role, I have the privilege of working with the Academic Support Team—Erick Carrero, Jenny Lin, and Katie Pealer—to support the 13 academic departments at UCBA. On any given day, this may include ordering courses, assigning classrooms, running enrollment reports, and collaborating with the Registrar’s Office to resolve issues. Other days involve meeting with faculty to brainstorm and refine processes that better support both faculty and the College. I’m leaning into new projects as my learning continues.
Prior to joining UCBA, I served as Registrar at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, one of Oklahoma’s premier technology centers. Before stepping into that role, I spent 13 years teaching high school and adult students in the Administrative and Legal Office program.
What is your favorite thing about working at UC Blue Ash?
My colleagues truly make coming to work a joy. The energy in the Dean’s Suite is inspiring – it’s an incredibly talented, creative, and forward-thinking group. I tend to approach new ideas thoughtfully, taking time to evaluate outcomes and understand the details before making big shifts. What I appreciate most is how this team stretches me in the best way, sparking fresh ideas and encouraging meaningful action. It’s motivating to be surrounded by people who keep me growing and engaged every day.

Is there a current/recent book or podcast you’re enjoying?
I’m currently reading Upstairs at the White House, about the First Ladies from Eleanor Roosevelt to Pat Nixon; James by Percival Everett; and I recently finished Kristin Hannah’s The Nightingale.
As a devoted Oklahoma City Thunder fan for the past 16 years, I listen to the Locked on Thunder and Down to Dunk podcasts throughout the week. For long car rides, my favorite podcasts are Serial: The Case Against Adnan Syed, Valley of Shadows, and Shrine of Duty—a quirky group of friends discussing British police procedurals. My all-time favorite podcast is Office Ladies by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey.
What kind of hobbies or activities do you pursue outside of work?
Since moving back to Ohio from Oklahoma, I’ve enjoyed a return to hiking and discovering new outdoor spaces. A couple of years ago, I began crocheting to reconnect with an aunt I don’t see often. It’s been a joy to share our favorite patterns and colorful yarn ideas. My favorite “activity” is simply spending time with my family—my husband, kids, parents, siblings, cousins, and friends who feel like family. What we’re doing matters far less than the connection we share.

Is there a fun or interesting fact you would like to share about yourself?
I grew up in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, near the borders of Pennsylvania and Maryland. While my heart will always long for those mountains, I’ve enjoyed living in Ohio (three times), Oklahoma (twice), Michigan, and California throughout my adult life. Having lived in so many places, I’ve had the opportunity to explore states from the East Coast to the West Coast. I’ve also had the privilege of traveling to Romania, Austria, and the United Kingdom.
