When did you start at UC Blue Ash and what are your current responsibilities?

I’m a newbie! I started at UC Blue Ash in June 2026 as an Instructional Technologist 2 working for Emily Lopez in the newly formed Instructional Design Partners department. In close partnership with the Learning + Teaching Center, I will support faculty and staff with effective integration of technology for teaching and learning. I will be the go-to person for Canvas support, digital accessibility in courses and other educational technology-related collaborations.

Prior to joining UCBA, I worked for over 15 years in instructional design and educational technology at colleges and universities in Ohio and Texas.

What is your favorite thing about working or teaching at UC Blue Ash?

Having just joined in the summer term, I would have to say meeting all of the incredibly kind and dedicated staff and faculty. It is a joy to come to work and be surrounded by such caring and friendly people. I am impressed with the level of passion and dedication to the student experience. I can see there is clearly some special sauce here at UCBA!

Is there a current/recent book or podcast you’re enjoying?

I have recently started listening to a podcast called Words + Music, which is an Audible original. I am deeply moved by music and this podcast combines the artists' own reflections on their process and experiences that created some of their greatest work. It is fascinating to take a peek behind the curtain at the genius and life events that shaped music that touched millions. It definitely gives me a new perspective on their work.

What kind of hobbies or activities do you pursue outside of work?

So many hobbies, so little time. I am a big sports fan, so Cincinnati Reds baseball and Detroit Lions football are diligently followed in my house. I love learning languages so I’m usually dabbling in at least one language on a regular basis. I also love to travel and explore new cultures and natural wonders. I am an avid flower gardener and love creating a little piece of sanctuary for the birds, bees and butterflies that visit my garden.

What is one fun or interesting fact you would like to share about yourself?

I traveled a lot when I was younger and started collecting two items on my travels: foreign currency and Coca Cola cans and bottles. I personally collected items from over 18 countries. Over the years, my collection has grown from others bringing me back items from their travels. To date, I have currency and Coke products from over 30 countries.
