When did you start at UC Blue Ash and what are your current responsibilities?

I began my appointment as an Assistant Nursing Professor at UC Blue Ash on January 1, 2026. My primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate nursing courses, facilitating clinical and laboratory experiences, advising and mentoring nursing students, and participating in curriculum development and program evaluation. I am also engaged in service activities that support the mission of the college and the broader university community.

In my most recent role before joining UC Blue Ash, I practiced as a registered nurse while also contributing to nursing education through precepting and mentoring students and new nurses. That experience strengthened my commitment to academic nursing and shaped my focus on evidence-based teaching, student-centered learning, and the integration of clinical practice within nursing education.

What is your favorite thing about working or teaching at UC Blue Ash?

My favorite thing about working and teaching at UC Blue Ash is the strong sense of community and inclusivity that truly defines the campus. UC Blue Ash feels like a close-knit, student-centered environment where faculty and staff are genuinely committed to the success of every student. More importantly, students are more than their student identification number; they are known personally, supported as individuals, and valued for their unique goals and experiences.

As a faculty member, I appreciate the collaborative culture among colleagues and the shared commitment to teaching excellence, mentorship, and accessibility. This supportive environment allows me to build meaningful relationships with students, foster their professional growth, and contribute to an educational experience where students feel seen, respected, and empowered to succeed.

Is there a current/recent book or podcast you’re enjoying?

Recently, I have been enjoying Cooking for Peanuts, a YouTube channel created by a plant-based Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. The content offers practical, evidence-informed nutrition education presented in an approachable and engaging way. I appreciate how the channel combines clear explanations of nutritional science with realistic, health-focused recipes, making it both informative and applicable to everyday life.

What kind of hobbies or activities do you pursue outside of work?

I enjoy a variety of activities that support both personal growth and community engagement. I volunteer at the Freestore Foodbank, which allows me to contribute to addressing food insecurity while giving back to the community. I enjoy reading as a way to continue learning and to unwind, as well as baking, which I find both creative and relaxing.

Is there a fun or interesting fact you would like to share about yourself?

I make homemade desserts and soups and test them on my friends and coworkers.
