When did you start at UC Blue Ash and what are your responsibilities?

I started at UC Blue Ash in January 2018 as a one day a week adjunct instructor in the Dental Hygiene Clinic. The following January, I began my full-time employment as a Visiting Assistant Professor, Program Director and Academic Advisor for the new Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) Program. I am currently an Assistant Professor, Program Director, and Academic Advisor with a shared teaching load within the EFDA and Dental Hygiene Programs, and I just submitted my dossier for promotion and tenure!
What is your favorite thing about working or teaching at UC Blue Ash?
My favorite thing about working at UC Blue Ash is the lasting impact we provide for our students. They will take what they learn here with them for the rest of their careers. I also enjoy working alongside passionate people who care about what they are doing. This is not the norm across employment environments.
Is there a current/recent book or podcast you’re enjoying?
How Much More by Lisa Harper. She uses her signature wit and captivating storytelling to explain how our creator’s unconditional love is woven throughout scripture, even in the often overlooked and misunderstood passages. Discovering God’s extravagant love in unexpected places.
What kind of hobbies or activities do you pursue outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy being outside. My family and I often have bonfires in our back yard, we also go hiking, camping, and canoeing down the Little Miami River. I enjoy playing volleyball and have coached for my daughter’s recreation team for several years now.
What is one fun or interesting fact you would like to share about yourself?
Although I lecture in front of people for a living, at my core I am an introverted person. So, I would much rather attend an intimate dinner with close friends and deep conversations over a large social gathering any day.
