When did you start at UC Blue Ash and what are your current responsibilities?

I started in Fall 2025 and I serve as Assistant Professor and Criminal Justice Program Director. I started in higher education at Somerset Community College as an adjunct and moved into a fulltime faculty position in 2003 as Assistant Professor. I have been in higher education and teaching criminal justice since 2001.

What is your favorite thing about working or teaching at UC Blue Ash?

I love my students. They are full of energy and challenge me every day. I can honestly say- the students keep my "young". My faculty colleagues are remarkable and make each day a treat to come to work. I have also enjoyed working with the different staff such as Career Services and Advising. I feel that the staff truly care for our students and will go above and beyond to help them succeed.

Is there a current/recent book or podcast you’re enjoying?

When I have time, I love to read historical fiction from the decade of the WWI and WWII. However, I am knee deep in current research and data collection, so I am limited on reading time. I do enjoy a good movie on Netflix focusing on science fiction and whimsical content.

What kind of hobbies or activities do you pursue outside of work?

I am a sports mom! My boys play soccer, basketball, football, and baseball. I love following them and watching them in their many sports. I also enjoy sewing, painting, and creating multi-medium artwork.

Is there a fun or interesting fact you would like to share about yourself?

I played golf, basketball, softball, and swam in high school. I ended up going to undergraduate on a golf scholarship and passed up a basketball scholarship to the US Airforce Academy.
