Certificate Programs
What is a Certificate?
A certificate is not a degree. It’s a shorter credential, usually completed in about one year, that helps you develop focused skills in a specific media area. Certificates can stand on their own as a quick way to build job-ready skills, or they can be added to the Applied Media Communications (AAS) degree as an extra specialization. Some students also use a certificate to explore a field before deciding whether to continue into a full degree. While a certificate is not equivalent to an associate or bachelor’s degree, it does appear on your UC transcript as an official credential.
Animation Certificate – For students interested in drawing, animation basics, and motion design. A great first step toward the AMEC Animation Track if you later decide to continue.
Media Criticism & Journalism Certificate – Ideal for students who want to strengthen writing, reporting, media analysis, and digital storytelling skills.
