Jay Hale’s interest in architecture started with a simple curiosity about spaces. He has always been fascinated by how buildings shape the way people live, explore, and interact with the world. UC Blue Ash provided the perfect starting point for Jay to explore that passion.

With smaller class sizes and a supportive learning environment, UCBA has helped him build the confidence and academic foundation he needed before he transitioned to the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning to pursue a degree in architecture.

Being a Student Ambassador has been one of the most rewarding parts of Jay’s college experience. This role has helped him strengthen his skills in public speaking, teamwork, and leadership while also allowing him to build meaningful friendships with fellow ambassadors.

My ambassador role and professor connections I’ve made on campus has helped make the transition to the Uptown campus smooth and seamless.

Jay’s passion for design isn’t just limited to the classroom. On his family’s rural property in Kentucky, he is already putting his skills into practice by designing and helping build tiny homes with his father. The project is part of a larger vision to eventually create a small retreat space with tiny homes and fruit crops across their property. Experiences like this reflect the creativity and confidence Jay has developed during his time at UC Blue Ash as he continues building toward his goal to become an architect.
