Andrew Nixon II's Ambassador Story
Andrew Nixon II
- First-generation college student who pushed himself out of his comfort zone to become a student leader on campus
- Psychology major who is using his education and personal growth to pursue his professional goals
Andrew Nixon II
As a first-generation college student who was trying to find his way in higher education, Andrew Nixon II initially kept to himself when he started at UC Blue Ash. He was focusing on his classes, taking advantage of the student resources UC Blue Ash offers, and figuring out where he fit in. Once Andrew took a step outside his comfort zone and became a Student Orientation Leader to help welcome new students to campus, everything began to change.
I really liked that experience – feeling like a leader on campus felt good. The natural pipeline is you apply to be a Student Orientation Leader, and then you apply to be a Student Ambassador. So that’s what I did, and it turned out well and I’m really glad that I did.
