Blue Ash Review Submissions

BAR_masthead_mockups2

UC Blue Ash students, faculty and staff can submit their work to the Blue Ash Review at any time. All text submissions should be submitted as Microsoft Word documents.

All Submissions

Poetry

We consider free verse, formal verse, or experimental poetry that leads us through its subject with depth and surprise; that demonstrates skill with language and form. Send three to five poems, eight-page maximum per submission.

Fiction

We consider character-driven fiction that explores the human experience from a variety of perspectives. No mysteries, detective stories, sci-fi, or other sub-genre forms. 10 pages, double-spaced, maximum. We will consider excerpts from longer works.

Non-Fiction Prose

We consider lyrical essays, memoir, personal essays approaching the writer's relationship to a broader subject (2,000 to 4,000 words), book reviews (500 to 750 words), and interviews with writers and artists.

Short Plays

We consider one-act or 10-minute plays (five-page limit), short dramatic monologues, or a short scene from a full-length play (include a brief synopsis of the full play).

Photography and Visual Art (2-D)

We consider black-and-white or color photography. All art and other 2-D visual media submitted must be high-resolution images to accommodate potential print publication. Submit art and visual media in the following file formats: .jpeg (high res); .pdf (high res); .tif; .psd; .eps; or .png. Up to ten images may be submitted for consideration.
