Celebrating Art, One Gallery at a Time

on

What if there was a convenient location that provided the community with a chance to appreciate art from all over the world at no cost?

At the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College, there is.

The UC Blue Ash Art Gallery exhibitions reflect the breadth and diversity of cultural and intellectual disciplines. It was founded to serve the community and the general public. The gallery offers 2D and 3D media, as well as spoken word, lectures, screenings and performances. Artists from around the world, the local community and UCBA faculty and students contribute to the artwork that is presented.

The UC Blue Ash Art & Visual Communication and Electronic Media Departments have collaborated to bring this outlet for the arts to the community. The gallery offers different exhibitions every month throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.

“One of the great things about looking at art is how personal it is – even when the artist’s motivations are clearly stated, the same piece can mean extremely different things to different people,” says John Wolfer, Professor of Art and Chairperson for the Department of Art & Visual Communication at UCBA. “In every case, art expands us and gives us new ways of experiencing the world.”

The UCBA Art Gallery is located inside the Annex Building, across from the intersection at Cooper and Plainfield roads. The gallery operates Monday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is closed on Sundays (the gallery is only open when an exhibit is running and is closed between exhibits). It is open to the general public as well as students. Admission is free
