Struggling Student Turned CEO Hopes to Inspire Others With His Story

He graduated at the bottom of his high-school class and didn’t think college would be any different; until a professor from UC Blue Ash College noticed his strengths and encouraged him to keep going. After that day, a newfound desire for achieving his goals ignited within Eric Broyles.

The UC Blue Ash alumnus will return to campus on October 24 to share his inspiring story in hopes of igniting that same desire and belief in students who may need the extra encouragement. The free presentation is part of Broyles’ PATH Speaker Series and takes place from 1:30-2:20 p.m. in the Muntz Hall Auditorium.

Broyles will talk about how we knew what his goals were – in life and academically – but didn’t really know how to achieve them. He credits his success to his professors at UC Blue Ash.

“Professors didn’t know, necessarily, that I was teetering on giving up,” says Broyles. “A few professors really took the time to help me along with math and with English so that I could go on to accomplish great things both academically and professionally.”

After graduating from UC Blue Ash in 1990, Broyles transferred to UC Uptown and earned his degree with honors. From there, he worked to achieve his dream of becoming an attorney and graduated with his law degree from the University of Virginia. Now, Broyles is the CEO of an international investment research firm.

Broyles hopes that his inspiring story will resonate with others and encourage them to achieve their dreams and build their confidence along the way.

The event is free, but anyone planning to attend is encouraged to register in advance at For more information contact the UC Blue Ash Communications Department at 513-936-1632.
