A Piece of France at UC Blue Ash College

The Tournées French Film Festival, hosted by the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College, gives everyone an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the French culture by offering a series of free, contemporary films that are open to the public.

The event features six French films over six weeks. Each new film will be shown on Thursday evenings from 7:00–9:00 p.m. beginning on September 27 in the auditorium at Muntz Hall, located on the UC Blue Ash campus. There is no cost to attend. Although the films will have English subtitles so that the audience can easily follow along, some of the scenes may not be suitable for all ages and viewer discretion is advised.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that the college has hosted the Tournées French Film Festival and the films shown are new to the festival every year. The festival is possible through a grant secured by Jody Ballah, a French professor at UC Blue Ash. Ballah has worked with the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE), in partnership with the French Embassy, to obtain the films.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase high-quality, contemporary French films that we may not otherwise get to see in theaters in Cincinnati,” says Ballah. “We invite students, faculty, staff and the community to come together in an informal environment to interact and learn about French cinema.”

After each viewing there will be an accompanying guest speaker who will lead a post-screening discussion.

All showings are from 7:00–9:00 pm in Muntz Auditorium on the UC Blue Ash campus.
