Five Resume Tips All Job-Seeking Students Should Follow


If you are serious about getting a job, you already know that it will take effort to get the job you want. Before most employers will meet you face to face, they will be meeting you through your resume. Here are some quick and easy tips provided by the UC Blue Ash College Career Center for when preparing a resume.

1. Do not list your references on your resume. It should always be a separate document.

2. Always have a skills section to further communicate your abilities.

3. Avoid using colored ink and pictures on your resume unless you are in an artistic field.

4. Always check your resume for grammatical errors and use spell check.

5. Only list your GPA on your resume if it is above a 3.0.
