Michael Henson, 2015

Author, poet and community activist Michael Henson performs an original song, reads from his latest collection of poems, and discusses the sources of his inspiration with host, UCBA English professor Rhonda Pettit.

Carolyne Wright, 2012

Carolyne Wright has been a world traveler, visiting and living in South America, Europe and India. She has also lived and taught throughout the United States. Many of her award-winning published poems reflect her experiences and concern for social justice and human rights abroad and at home. In this Poetry Cafe program, Wright introduces and reads several of her poems at the UC Blue Ash Worldfest, and discusses her life and writings with UCBA Professor of English, Rhonda Pettit.

Bea Opengart, 2013

Bea Opengart was the featured poet for the 2012 Poetry Cafe event at UC Blue Ash College. In this program, Ms. Opengart introduces and reads several of her poems, and joins UCBA English professor Rhonda Pettit for an in-depth interview about her work.

Dana Wildsmith, 2011

Poet and essayist Dana Wildsmith was a guest poet during the 2011 National Poetry Month celebration at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. In this edition of Poetry Cafe, Wildsmith reads and discusses some of her work with UCBA Professor Rhonda Pettit and her writing class.

Dana Wildsmith grew up in south Georgia, the daughter of a methodist minister active in working for social justice. She earned a BA in Sociology from Virginia Wesleyan College. 

She currently lives in north Georgia, working to preserve a 125-year-old family farm in the midst of encroaching development. Wildsmith teaches adults of many nationalities in the English Literacy program of Lanier Technical College. Her recent books include a collection of autobiographical essays, Back to Abnormal: Surviving With An Old Farm In the New South, and a book of poems, One Good Hand.

Andy Miller, 2011

P. Andrew Miller was the featured poet at the 2011 National Poetry Month celebration of UC Blue Ash College. In this show, he discusses his work with Rhonda Pettit, UCBA Professor of English, and entertains the Poetry Cafe live audience with poems and comic book illustrations from his book, "The Legacy of the Turquoise Knight."

e.E. Charlton-Trujillo

Rhonda Pettit, Associate Professor of English at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash, interviews poet/filmmaker e.E. Charlton-Trujillo about her poetry and recent films. Interspersed throughout the interview are poetry readings by Trujillo given at the 2010 Poetry Cafe event held at UCBA.

Featured poet Richard Hague sits down for an interview with Phonda Pettit, Professor of English at UC Blue Ash College. The interview includes his thoughts on "the role of poetry in our society and in our lives". Footage from his appearance as the featured speaker at UCBA's National Poetry Month 2007 celebration is included.

Cathy Smith Bowers, 2009

Rhonda Pettit, Professor of English at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash, interviews poet Cathy Smith Bowers about her life, poetry, and philosophies. Interspersed throughout the interview are poetry readings by Cathy Smith Bowers given to Professor Pettit's English class Winter 2009.
