Before You Arrive

So you've signed and returned your offer letter, now its time to start the process of becoming a UC and UC Blue Ash College employee.



New STAFF

New Employee Orientation

This orientation is MANDATORY before you can begin your staff position.

  • You will be provided the date and time for your orientation in your offer letter.
  • You will recieve an email from the hiring system containing a link to complete electronic new hire paperwork. You must complete this before attending orientation.
  • You will be completing your i9 at this orientation.
  • Please remember to bring two forms of identification with you. If you do not have the forms of IDs outlined in the link, contact HR ASAP.
  • You will be provided with information on life at the University as well as benefits information. You will be given a chance to select your benefits at this time.
  • NOTE: The orientation takes place at the Clifton Campus. The address is University Hall, Room 450, 51 Goodman Drive, Cincinnati, OH, 45219. (Free validated parking is available in Kingsgate garage next door to University Hall.)

Your Work Location

After orientation, you will report to UCBA to your designated work location.

  • Your direct supervisor should provide you with the building and office number of where you will be working.
  • You can find a campus map here.
  • A Parking Permit can be obtained in the Dean's Office Muntz 140.

 


New FACULTY, Tenure-Track and Adjunct

New Hire Paperwork

New hire paperwork must be completed before you begin teaching

  • You will be sent a background check request from FastTraxSelect. Please complete this as soon as possible.
  • You will recieve an email from the hiring system containing a link to complete electronic new hire paperwork. You must complete this paperwork ASAP.
  • Schedule a time to meet in person with Kristy Otten - Ottenkr@uc.edu to complete your i9. (Please remember to bring two forms of identification to the meeting. Acceptable forms of ID are outlined here.)
  • Set up your direct deposit at www.ucflex.uc.edu on your first day of employment.
  • Arrange to have your official transcripts sent to the attention of Meg Anderson - UCBA Dean's Office 9555 Plainfield Rd 45236
  • You can obtain keys and a parking permit in the dean's suite Muntz 140.

Your Work Location

Confirm the building and classroom of where you will be teaching.

  • Your department chair should provide you with this information.
  • You can find a campus map here.
  • Find out if you have shared or personal office space
  • Practice using and logging into the accounts provided to you.

 


New Student Workers

What to Wear

Appropriate attire contributes to a positive UC image.

  • Whatever your work setting, you should wear presentable clothing in good condition.
  • Clothing that is revealing or inappropriate to the workplace is unacceptable.
  • Uniforms may be required for certain positions.
  • Some departments may have a more casual Summer attire policy.
  • Your department supervisor has the final say on dress code.
