Berigan is a scholarship donor at UC Blue Ash who has more than 10 years of experience in non-profit and development experience, most recently serving as the institutional advancement/alumni relations officer at The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She brings a strong background in fundraising, alumni relations and event planning which will be vital to success in this role.

Berigan’s personal connection to the college is through her mother, who was a graduate of the nursing program at UC Blue Ash. When she passed away from cancer in 2005, Berigan’s family created the Nancy Stolzenberger Nursing Scholarship in her memory. It is for students who are returning to school while raising a family and who have an interest in hospice or home health care.

“It’s unusual to have someone with Jennifer’s background and expertise who already has a strong connection to our college and a clear understanding of the life-changing impact scholarships can have for the recipient, as well as the legacy they can create for a loved one,” says Robin Lightner, PhD, dean of UC Blue Ash College.

Sadly, Berigan’s father also passed away earlier this year. Per his wishes, she and her brother have endowed the scholarship at UC Blue Ash to continue her mother’s legacy and continue to support students in the nursing program.

“This new role enables me to bring many things that are close to my heart together – using my skills as a fundraiser, honoring my mother and father, and supporting the mission and priorities of the college,” says Berigan.

One of Berigan’s first priorities in the new role is planning for the UC Blue Ash Dash 5K for Scholarships on Saturday, October 20 on the UC Blue Ash campus. She will also connect with area businesses and organizations interested in supporting scholarships, events and other initiatives at the college.
