New School Requirement Will Benefit Student Success

For the 2018-19 academic year, all UC Blue Ash students will be required to have a laptop computer that runs on Windows or Macintosh operating systems. The laptop should be brought to class whenever a computer is required or needed. This new requirement will ensure that each student has the opportunity to access any electronic resources needed to be successful in their courses.

Classes and coursework often require computer use and it is important that students can have access to, and complete, their assignments in a timely and adequate manner. Having a laptop can also help cut costs on books by purchasing digital copies that can be accessed on a computer.

There are more specific laptop requirements for eMedia Communications and Art and Visual Communications programs. Students who plan to transition to UC Uptown, or another university, should also be aware of the requirements of the laptops for their intended transfer program.

In most cases, Chromebooks and tablets cannot access all of the educational content used at UC Blue Ash, so therefore these will not satisfy the requirement for a laptop.
