New Building

What’s New for Fall 2018 at UC Blue Ash?

There are new spaces, initiatives and academic programs at UC Blue Ash as we begin the 2018 fall semester!

Workers were busy this summer to finish phase one of a massive renovation project in Muntz Hall, located on the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College campus. The first phase of the renovation covered half of the third floor while phase two will work on the second half.

Students can expect to see 14 new classrooms – all of which will include modern visual and audio classroom technology, new seating, and whiteboards – two new conference rooms, three digital signage locations and multiple study and lounge stations. Phase one also included the addition of a more efficient heating and cooling system and new insulation and geothermal wells. Muntz Hall is the first building across all UC campuses to utilize a geothermal system.

The project is now in the beginning stages of phase two, which will add new office space to the third floor of Muntz Hall. In addition to the renovations, new furniture that is designed for students will be added to the main hallway and lobby by the auditorium.

UC Blue Ash is also adding more programs to the curriculum for the Spring 2019 semester. The Associate in Technical Studies should be available in three different areas of study: business, health care and information technology. The programs are designed for students who have graduated from an Ohio Technical Center program. There will be a new associate degree in environmental studies in the spring of 2019 as well.

All UC Blue Ash students are required to have their own laptop beginning this fall. Laptops will be essential to the success of students and it will ensure that they will have access to their classes and coursework in a timely manner. For more information, go to

In addition to that, the UCBA Library is no longer open on Saturdays – instead it will be open longer on Friday evenings. For a full list of hours, including holidays and any exceptions, visit the webpage. The library also has a total of 36 laptops that students can loan out for four hours at a time. The laptops are strictly for campus use only.

There are new intramural sports programs for fall. Students will be able to play flag football and soccer on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. The intramural sports are free and open to all students. Our Student Life office will manage the program. Keep an eye out for more information about the intramural sports teams!
