The Ohio State University community is trying to get back to a sense of routine following the attack on Monday that left 11 people injured and the accused assailant dead. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening; you can get the latest info from the Columbus Dispatch here. OSU officials used the ‘Run, Hide, Fight’ emergency response protocol during the event, sending out emergency text messages that helped many students, faculty and staff avoid harm. It is the same training and notification system used by UC Police. Learn more about our emergency response resources here.
How Does Free Tuition Sound?
If you register for your spring courses by December 9, 2016 you may be able to take them without paying tuition for the semester. All UCBA students who meet the early registration deadline will be entered into a drawing and the student whose name is selected will receive free tuition for the entire semester. The early registration incentive was created by Dean Cady Short-Thompson in 2012 and every semester since then a lucky student has been awarded free tuition. The next winner could be you! Learn more here.
Congratulations to UC Blue Ash grad Anastassia Jenjebir, who was recently elected student government president for the UC College of Pharmacy. Along with being an outstanding student, Anastassia was extremely active at our college before she transitioned to UC Uptown. She helped create and lead the UCBA Chemistry Club, helped as a tutor in the Science Lab, and served as a student ambassador. She is clearly making her mark at the College of Pharmacy.
Cap and Gown Plans.
UC’s Fall Commencement Ceremony for undergraduate students will be on Saturday, December 10 in Fifth Third Arena. Congratulations to all of our students who are earning their degree this fall! We encourage you to participate in the graduation ceremony, Dean Short-Thompson would love to see you there and shake your hand. Get all of the UC Commencement information here.
As we head toward the end of the fall semester, please note that the UC Blue Ash Shuttle will operate on its normal schedule through December 9 and then will stop running until classes resume on January 9, 2017. The Bleecker Street Café will be on its normal schedule during finals week and will close at 2:00 p.m. on December 9 and will also open again on the first day of the spring semester.
