New Volunteer Opportunity: Alumni Admissions Collaboration

The UC Blue Ash Alumni Association is teaming up with the college’s Admissions Office to offer an exciting new volunteer opportunity. In this partnership, alumni will serve an important role in encouraging prospective students to attend UC Blue Ash, while also sharing their personal college experience with them. When possible, alumni will be matched with prospective students interested in the same major as their own. Efforts will be made to make this an easy, fun and manageable volunteer experience. Plus, alumni living outside of greater Cincinnati can easily participate!

This volunteer project is expected to launch January 2017. If you’d like to learn more about this new volunteer opportunity, please email Katelyn Hainline at Katelyn.Hainline@uc.edu.

Mentoring Program Kicks Off

2016-17 Alumni Mentoring Program Prepares for Kick Off

We are headed into the fourth year of the college’s Alumni Mentoring Program, which kicks off at the end of October. This year, we have 12 Alumni Mentors who will volunteer their time to connect monthly, over eight months, with a UC Blue Ash student who has a similar major or career path. During monthly connections, mentors and mentees discuss professional and career-related topics, and participate in special program events.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, email us to learn more! Please send your inquiry to Katelyn.Hainline@uc.edu and we’ll schedule an informational meeting with you to share more details. You can also visit our webpage to read more about the program: http://www.ucblueash.edu/about/alumni/mentor.html.

Now accepting Alumni Mentor applications for 2016-2017

Alumni Mentoring Program—Accepting Applications for 2016-2017

In early May, we wrapped up another impactful year of the Alumni Mentoring Program with a fun, informal end-of-year celebration. Now that we find ourselves in the middle of summer, applications are open for next year’s Alumni Mentors! What better way to pay it forward than by impacting the life of a current UC Blue Ash Bearcat? By spending just one to three hours per month, October through May, you can change a student’s life by investing in them through career and professional development-related discussions. We provide the training and tools you’ll need to serve as a mentor—we just need YOU to put them to practice.

Visit the Alumni Mentoring webpage to learn more about the program, hear from previous mentors, and apply using the online application. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 31.

Dayton-Area UC Blue Ash Alumni—Your Feedback Needed

Calling All UC Blue Ash Alumni in the Dayton Area! Dayton is one of the top three cities where UC Blue Ash alumni reside and, as your alma mater, we want to better serve YOU! Whether it be a Dayton Dragons game, an air show, or a UC football or basketball watch party, we want to hear what sort of alumni activities you’d be interested in attending along with fellow Blue Ash Bearcats. To get a better idea of what our Dayton-area alumni would like to see from the UC Blue Ash Alumni Association, we have put together a brief survey.

Please take just five minutes to complete the following survey, and we will send you a FREE UC Blue Ash Alumni T-shirt! Be sure to include your mailing address and desired t-shirt size at the end to receive your gift.  Click here for the survey.

Volunteer Information Session

Get Involved: Volunteer Info Session

Thinking about getting involved as an alumni volunteer, but not sure where to start? Wondering what sort of volunteer opportunities are available at UC Blue Ash? We’d love to meet with you! There are many opportunities to get involved throughout the year at UC Blue Ash, including volunteering at the UC Blue Ash Dash 5K in the fall, at our Distinguished Awards event during UC’s Alumni Weekend, or even at our new Alumni Community Service Event in the spring. These are great opportunities to get your feet wet as a new alumni volunteer. Our next volunteer opportunity is during Welcome Week (the first week of fall classes) on Monday, August 22 and Tuesday, August 23. Alumni volunteers will be stationed around UC Blue Ash greeting new and returning students, welcoming them, passing out campus maps, and directing students to their destinations, when applicable.

Send us an email letting us know you’re interested in learning more about UCBA alumni volunteer opportunities, and we’ll schedule a meeting with you to share more details and find the right fit. You can send your email to: alumni@ucblueash.edu.

There are more than 20,000 students who have graduated from UCBA since the college opened in 1967. Check out what other alumni are up to and get information on coming back to college to update job skills, or just see what is happening on campus these days.

The UCBA College Alumni Associations represent, serve and inspire current and future alumni in support of the University of Cincinnati.

If you are thinking about making a contribution to UCBA or starting a scholarship, give us a call at (513)936-1734 or email Meredith.Delaney@uc.edu
